It is possible your FlightPrep software may be stale if you haven't updated it recently. Service Pack 2 has more features than older software as well as user enhancements and bug fixes.

We identified an error in the way the Golden Eagle and ChartCase programs update. It is possible you are not using the most current software available.

Checking your version is easy; access the main menu option [Help] [About] If you see any version less than 4.7.1 you need an update!

Updates are available at www.flightprep.com from the left-side [Downloads] menu.

If you are using Version 4.x software, you can use the "Application Update" on the menu.

If you are using any software PRIOR to Version 4, use the Control Panel "Add/ Remove Programs" to uninstall the outdated software first then download and install a "Full Application"

Service Pack 2 Release Now in Effect!

SP2 further extends capabilities in ChartCase products for the cockpit and our Golden Eagle flight planning products. Most obvious are major user-enhancement requests for the InFlight mode of ChartCase. We redesigned the appearance for a brighter, cleaner and more polished look. The controls are easier to use. We trimmed away button presses by simplifying the steps to access information and streamlined the workflow. The Change Log listing of improvements is almost as long as we offered in SP1 last year.

We released Service Pack 2 during Sun & Fun. It is a free upgrade to FlightPrep ChartCase 2007 and Golden Eagle 2007 customers. Your software will recognize the new version is available (as long as you have a current version already installed. See the "Tip of the Month" sidebar article to confirm you are up to date right now.) SP2 is formally named Version 4.7.2. The Service Pack includes a newly revised FlightPrep User Manual that details the changes.

Fast FAQ

Many FlightPrep subscribers find that they use their software on multiple computers and want to know how to save a flight plan on a memory stick or SD Card to move it to another PC or take it with them on the road. Here are the steps you need to follow to accomplish saving a flight plan to a portable device.

1. Insert the portable device (Memory Stick, SD Card, External Hard Drive, Etc.) into the PC.
2. On your FlightPrep software select [File] from the upper left hand side of the screen and then select [Save As]. Then select the portable media drive you inserted to store the flight plan on.
3. Eject the device normally and insert it into your other system.
4. Start your FlightPrep software as usual and load the saved plan using [File] and then select [Open] to load the flight plan from your portable device.
 

You may find that saving the plan again on the hard drive is helpful in case you would like to access that plan and you are not using or have not plugged in that portable drive.
