* Updates begin shipping today!
The FAA released data early this cycle, so we finished
early too! The Golden Eagle Plus update production run
completed late last night and should all be postmarked today.
The rest of the subscriptions should complete production over
the next day and be shipped thereafter. Please watch your
mailbox for your subscription update envelope. Be sure you
install on or AFTER the effective date.

TM supports FlightPrep
products
A few of our cutting edge clients asked us to cover the latest
release from the folks up in Redmond. FlightPrep successfully
tested all our products with pre-releases of Microsoft
TM
Vista TM.
We have no problems to report. The new operating system does
consume more system resources, even at an idle. Therefore, if
you want the fastest performance on your tablet or laptop in the
airplane, we recommend staying with XP
TM at least for now.

Feature Update
We are shipping the Beta
Release to our testers next week. Up to this point, they
examined the first phase of the Internet update mechanism. This
shipment will permit them to review the ChartCase program
interaction with the new data delivery mechanism. We made a few changes to permit more flexibility in data
formats. This will require installing our new Core Data Disc for
successful operation. A new benefit of the program
changes give you easier access to set file locations to store your flight plans and
track files in the "My Documents" folder of your computer. This
will make it easier to save your data with all your other
documents.

As we prepare to introduce Internet download to
all our customers, we will need to make some revisions to your
disc update
service. Please check inside your next update envelope
for important news about data distribution changes beginning
scheduled for April 2007.

is now version 3.0.6. The data is current
18 January 2007 through15
March 2007.
We recommend you
download the newest data update as soon possible.
The
Golden
Eagle FlightPrepTM
free program and updates are available for
download from our web site. These files are large and take
a considerable time to download unless you have a cable or DSL
connection.

"Not many companies can say that they have been in business for

EGT: What's normal
I own a 1974 Grumman AA-5, SN550. Last winter I had the engine
(O-320) rebuilt. I have a question about EGTs.
The airpark life: Who, exactly, lives in airparks? And would you
want them for your neighbors?
If you are considering moving to a residential airpark, one of
the questions probably going through your mind relates to the
demographics of existing airparks.
Should you use fuel that's been stored for years? A lawyer would
say no. What does our expert say?
I received a note from Gerd Wengler who flies a Turbo Skylane
with a Lycoming TIO-540 engine. He and his wife plan to fly up
to the Arctic this summer and were concerned about the fuel
