eReader Devices and FlightPrep
Many FlightPrep customers have been asking about using their FlightPrep software generated reports (charts, plates, weight and balance, and flight logs) on eReader devices and smart phones. If your eReader (Kindle, Nook, Sony Reader, Etc.) or smart phone supports viewing .pdf files than you should have the ability to view FlightPrep reports on your eReader device. Below is a step by step process using Windows that can assist you in moving FlightPrep reports to your eReader. For further information specific to your device please see product documentation on the device website or your owner’s manual. 1- First, build the report (trip kit, flight log, weight and balance, or flight plan) that you wish to move to your eReader in your FlightPrep software. 2- Once you build the report (you will know that its built because it will display in front of you on the reports tab) your FlightPrep software will store this report in your computers My Documents\ (for those using Vista or Windows 7 it’s called simply Documents), FlightPrep\Reports folder. 3- Attach your eReader to your PC using whatever method the manufacturer recommends. 4- Copy the specific .pdf files from the reports folder above (or copy the whole folder if you like) directly over to your eReader. 5- On your eReader device confirm that the files are present and viewable after you complete the file move and or any sync that is required by your device manufacturer to move files. 6- You are ready to go fly! |
