Warranties, Returns, Exchanges, and License Transfers
If you are not satisfied with a software product you purchased from us, contact us within 15 days of purchase or invoice date and let us know. In most cases you may exchange the product or receive a refund, except as explained below. FlightPrep warrants that the product will perform substantially as designed. However, FlightPrep does not warrant that product performance will be error free, operate on all computers or operate without interruptions.
New Product Manufacturer's Warranties:
All new products are sold with the manufacturer's limited warranty. The warranty period and service varies by manufacturer and product. FlightPrep does not warrant other manufacturers' products sold. These products are backed by the limited warranties of the original manufacturer or publisher only. Consult your product documentation for specific limited warranty information.
FlightPrep software is fully transferable to another party. An account transfer fee ($150.00) applies and is payable only by the new software licensee. The transfer fee includes required account setup. Account transfer is not extended to data subscriptions as noted under Non-Refundable Fees. Please contact FlightPrep sales staff before transferring your software to another user.
All hardware product service will be that offered by the original manufacturer.
Each sale represents a considerable investment in time and money by you the customer and by FlightPrep. Many software returns result from either whimsical purchases or down right attempted software piracy or fraud. To keep product prices affordable, we believe that passing return costs on to our legitimate customers is not fair. For this reason all return costs are charged directly to only customers returning products.
FlightPrep offers customers a 15 Day Acceptance period (after customer receipt of original shipment of primary device IE: EFB, Computer, receiver) to verify their hardware performs to their expectations. In the event your purchase does not operate to our specifications, you agree to work with our Technical Support service to diagnose and resolve the issue. If you request to return a device you will be given an RMA number over the phone and emailed RMA instructions. After the 15 Day Acceptance period expires, without exception, there are no hardware returns permitted. Your purchase indicates your agreement with this policy.
We cannot sell returned products as new. For this reason, certain charges and costs are associated with returned products. Without exceptions, all returned products are subject to a restocking charge. This restocking charge ranges from 20% to 35% depending on product type and condition. The percentage charged is determined at the sole discretion of FlightPrep. Note: If products returned for restocking are not in "like-new" condition, we may refuse to accept products submitted as "returns." To receive a refund or credit, your purchase must be returned with shipping and insurance pre-paid in "as new" condition, in original box and packaging, and with all warranty cards, manuals and accessories. Any variance from these conditions could result in delay or forfeiture of your refund. Examples of unacceptable conditions include (but are not limited to) application of "Velcro", visible scratches, dents, cracks, predominant odors like smoke, or other faults. All returned products undergo a rigorous incoming inspection.
Clearance & Discounted Products:
All clearance and discounted products (including refurbished, demo, and open box items) purchased from FlightPrep cannot be returned.
Setup and Configuration Charges At the sole discretion of FlightPrep, all returned products are subject to consumed setup and configuration charges. Because of the custom installation process, without exception, setup, testing, and configuration charges are non-refundable. Opened 3rd party software may not be returned for a refund.
Shipping fees will not be refunded without exception.
Dishonored Check fees:
Bank charges and a fee of $35 will be charged for any dishonored check.
Many FlightPrep product include navigation and software update subscriptions. All subscriptions are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Ship-In (RMA) Return Policy:
In the event you need to return an item, contact our Customer Service Center at (503) 678-4360 to obtain your Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number and details including mailing address and procedures. RMA numbers are valid for 10 days from date of issuance. We are unable to accept returns or other shipments without an RMA number. Shipments sent to us without an assigned RMA number clearly marked on the package label will be refused and returned to you. Any returns that contain a computing device such as a Windows, Apple, or other computer must be shipped via UPS or FedEx. Please note that any packages containing a computing device sent via US Postal Service are subject to refusal. Shipping and insurance charges are not refunded.
Refunds on purchases made with a credit card will only be credited to the same card. Purchases made by cash or check over $250 will be refunded by a check from our corporate office mailed within 10 business days of our receipt and inspection of your returned product. Refunds or credits are issued after receipt and inspection of returned goods. Refunds or credits do not include original shipping and handling charges. Shipping fees will not be refunded if shipment is refused at time of delivery. All returns must be shipped prepaid. FlightPrep will credit shipping charges for defective/damaged merchandise only. FlightPrep will not accept the return or exchange of any item if the UPC code has been removed from the packaging. Products returned to FlightPrep without proof of delivery may result in forfeiture of your refund.
Charge Back Policy:
Some Credit Card Companies have some sort of ‘customer satisfaction guarantee’ that allows customers to receive a full refund from the vendor if they (the customers) are not satisfied with their product for any reason. The credit card companies charge back the entire amount of the invoice including shipping. This is in direct contradiction to our stated return policy and is not acceptable. You, the customer, are responsible for any restocking fees and conditions described in this Policy associated with any purchase made from FlightPrep. If you allow your credit card company to charge back our account, we reserve the right to re-bill your credit card for the restocking fees and shipping charges that are appropriate under this Policy. Credit Card charge backs outside of the stated return policy or if attempted without contacting FlightPrep under this policy will be subject to a $100 fee plus any applicable court recovery costs. If you buy from us, you agree to this Policy.
If you do not have the original receipt, you may exchange unopened product for a FlightPrep merchandise credit. Items must be in new condition, with the original box, packaging, manuals, accessories, and UPC code. All opened products require an original receipt (or acceptable facsimile) and may only be exchanged for the same product or title.
Agreement of Terms:
Your purchase of products and/ or services from FlightPrep Inc. indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. You further agree to honor these terms in your purchase and in the payment of products and/ or services provided by FlightPrep Inc. This policy subject to change without notice at the sole discretion of FlightPrep.
